I mis-read your question at the end. "What awful thing has taught you patience?" I was typing an answer when the light bulb in my head lit up. Trying to stay positive...but even so, if I'd read "awesome" correctly I might have said "diapers".
You read it right, though, Dale. Instead of being pissed off about my neighbor's "weeds" continuously infiltrating my yard, I chose to roll with it because in the end, my fence is still there, the neighbors aren't the worst ones I've dealt with, and that fence is just high enough that I don't have to have them staring at me while I'm writing on the back porch. 😁
...and sometimes when life gives you lemons, you pin your enemies flat on their backs and squeeze lemon juice in their eyes. Only as situationally appropriate though. Might work on weeds too.
