Sci Friday # 100: Visual Inspiration
Images that inspired me
Wow. I just inflicted ninety-nine of my photos on all y’all. 😳
Ninety-nine weeks of this. Thanks for sticking around.
What?
A bunch of orchids on display in Japan. Beautiful flowers, but the photo wasn’t that good.
So not something I’d normally brag about.
Why?
However, the photograph provides us with color and pattern.
The human eye is naturally captivated by colors and patterns. I gravitate toward images with deeper, darker colors, like purple, navy blue, and hunter green. They resonate with me. Bright colors are nice, but to me the dark ones are more evocative. To me, colors are like action in a story. They tug on the readers’ emotions.
Patterns draw my eye deeper into an image, much like how complex characters draw me into a story.
Readers questions: What are your favorite colors? What are your favorite characters from stories you’ve read?
Hope all y’all had a great week. Enjoy the weekend. 👋
